Salon Screen
Freestanding Sculptural Room Divider

Inspired by the fluidity of the northern lights, the Salon Screen is a sculptural freestanding divider that transforms with movement. Its undulating form and vertical rhythm create changing sightlines, subtly revealing and concealing views while defining space with lightness and elegance.

  • Originally designed for Salon in Toronto, the Salon Screen draws inspiration from the fluid movement of the northern lights. Its undulating silhouette and rhythmic vertical elements create a shifting visual experience, where views are continuously revealed, obscured, and reframed as one moves through a space.

What began as a site-specific architectural intervention has evolved into a freestanding screen suitable for hospitality, residential, workplace, and public environments. The screen serves as both divider and sculpture, defining space without enclosing it, while allowing light, shadow, and perspective to animate its form throughout the day.

Fabricated as a series of precisely arranged vertical members, the Salon Screen balances openness and privacy, creating moments of separation while maintaining a sense of connection between adjacent spaces.
